Genealogy and Research

The Hopkinton Historical Society has in its collection an assortment of family records, Revolutionary War records including some pension records, a limited number of New Hampshire town histories, copies of deed abstracts, cemetery records, a limited number of probate records of homes and businesses, and a limited number of photographs of homes and businesses.
Most of the information is a transcript of the original document. The Society does not have all records pertaining to genealogy or property ownership in the town. Additional research may be conducted by contacting the Hopkinton, NH Town Clerk’s Office at 603-746-3180 or the State of NH Department of Records and Archives at 603-271-2236.
To conduct your own research: Visitors are welcome to conduct their own research during museum hours of operation. It is helpful to call ahead so that staff may get materials ready for you. A staff member will be available to assist you with research if an appointment has been previously scheduled. Appointments may be scheduled by contacting the Society at 603-746-3825 or [email protected].
To request the Hopkinton Historical Society to conduct research for you: Download and complete our research request form and send it to HHS along with a research fee of $15 for HHS members/$20 for non-members. This fee includes one hour of research plus copying and mailing costs. Additional hours if necessary will be charged at the same rate. Please make checks payable to Hopkinton Historical Society.
