2022 Annual AppealNovember 2022
Dear Hopkinton Historical Society Members and Friends: This year Hopkinton Historical Society has been as busy as ever working on a variety of exciting projects. One project has been our 2022 exhibit, Gather ‘Round: Telling Our History Through Food,” which will be on display through December. In addition, through a grant from NH Humanities, we were able to host several programs over the summer related to the exhibit, from on-line cooking demonstrations to an herb walk at Kimball Lake Cabins. In October, we celebrated Indigenous Peoples Day in Hopkinton with the Abenaki Trails Project, including an Abenaki Harvest Tasting Event at the Slusser Center. The staff and Board of Trustees of the Hopkinton Historical Society strongly believe in the value of researching, disseminating, and celebrating the history and people of the town of Hopkinton. Let me say, representing the Board of Trustees, that we are very fortunate to have three extremely knowledgeable individuals as our part-time staff, whose skills greatly complement each other and whose efforts bring us valuable programs and events, preserve our ever-expanding museum collection, and assist townspeople to explore the history of local families, properties, and town life long ago. In order to continue the mission of preserving and sharing Hopkinton’s history, we ask that you consider a contribution to the Society’s 2022 Annual Appeal. Your contribution will help to offset the Society’s operating costs which include insuring the building and collections and maintaining the environment to properly care for the collections entrusted to its care. Donations also help toward payroll, fuel oil, exhibits, programs, school visits, research and presentations. By responding to the 2022 Annual Appeal, you are investing in documenting and preserving the history of our town and its people, now and for future generations. As a not-for-profit organization, the Hopkinton Historical Society is supported entirely by membership dues and donations and competitive grant awards (and greatly assisted by our volunteers!). We hope that you will continue to participate in honoring Hopkinton’s unique history. Together we can continue to build a strong, community-focused organization. Thank you for your generosity, commitment, and enthusiasm in contributing to the Annual Appeal. Sincerely, Jim Fredyma Heather Mitchell President, Board of Trustees Executive Director P.S. Annual Appeal donations may be made online at www.HopkintonHistory.org. Thank you for your support! P.S.S. As a special bonus, we have added two incentives for Annual Appeal donations: Supporters that donate between $250-$499 will receive “Hopkinton New Hampshire 1765-1965,” a publication filled with interesting facts and stories. Supporters that donate $500 and above will receive a Family Membership voucher that can be used to extend your own membership or gift to someone else, as well as the publication “Hopkinton New Hampshire 1765-1965.” |
