2020 Annual Appeal
Dear Hopkinton Historical Society Members and Friends:
A sincere thank you to everyone who has generously supported the Hopkinton Historical Society’s 2020 Annual Appeal. As this unusual year draws to a close, you may be reviewing your charitable donations. If you have not yet contributed to the Hopkinton Historical Society, we hope you will consider doing so. Donations to the Society’s 2020 Annual Appeal will help to offset the Society’s operating costs which include insuring the building and collections and maintaining the environment to properly care for the collections entrusted to its care. Donations also help toward payroll, fuel oil, exhibits, programs, school visits, research and presentations.
Despite, or perhaps because of, the challenges of the pandemic, this year at Hopkinton Historical Society has changed how we’ve done things. For example, our summer exhibit about trains “changed tracks” and was converted to a driving tour of railroad-impacts in Hopkinton. The driving tour through Hopkinton is available two ways – through our website (www.hopkintonhistory.org) by selecting the All…Aboard! Driving Tour, or follow the link on a driving tour app, called The Clio (www.theclio.com/tour/1386).
In addition, we are currently collaborating with Two Villages Art Society on a holiday art show and sale at the old Bates Building in Contoocook. Shoppers can visit the show in person, make reservations for a private showing, or browse the entire show online. This wonderful show includes 50 local artists and runs through December 20th. For more info, go to www.twovillagesart.org.
If your membership has expired or you would like to get a head start on your 2021 Membership, this letter is a reminder to do so (check your address label for your current membership status). Members receive discounts on the events with admission fees and receive invitations to and reminders of Society programs and events.
Please know that your donation of money, time, or both will be gratefully received and deeply appreciated. We give heartfelt thanks for your interest in and contributions to the Historical Society’s mission.
